GotFrag.com - The EM Global Finals have come to an end, and the final results have many thinking how did that happen. The Koreans play extremely well when it counts as H O N finished first and SK Gaming Korea placed second. Also another shock was the team from France, aAa nawaK, earning a third place finish as they played very strong in group and bracket play.

Korea Dominates when it Matters

Entering the EM Global Finals, the field consisted of seven Europe, three US and two Korean teams. With these numbers, the chances of a Korean team even placing in the top three would be rare and most thought that both US and Europe teams were stronger anyways when it came to tournament play. Both H O N and SK Gaming Korea performed strong in group play as H O N finished 4-1 in Group A, and SK Gaming Korea finished 3-2 in Group B. wow gold However, neither earned a number one spot, and had to play in the relegation match up to determine if they would advance or not. SK Gaming would play mousesports out of Germany, and would dominate with a 3-0 victory. H O N was matched up against iNNERFiRE, who had only lost one match total in both the Euro Finals and the EM Global Group Play, and H O N came out on top with a 3-2 victory to advance.

Come Bracket play, both the Korean teams were still not favored, as SK Gaming EU and aAa played very well in group play. The two SK teams would be matched up in the first round, and SK Korea would prove to be the stronger of the two RMP teams as they won 3-2 in a very entertaining match up. H O N would struggle against the strong momentum of aAa and would lose 3-1 falling to the losers bracket. When it looked like H O N would be knocked out of the tournament having to play SK Gaming EU, they once against surprised most and won the match up 3-1 and keep their hopes alive of winning it all. SK Gaming KR would play aAa for a chance to advance to the Championship match, and would prove that they want it as SK Gaming would win 3-0.  It then came down to H O N versus aAa, the winner would advance to the championships to play SK Gaming, and the loser would finish in third. With aAa winning earlier and momentum in their favor, again Europe would be expected to advance. H O N however did not give in to intimidation, and were able to pull out with the win in a 3-1 victory.

Out of a 12 team field representing their country in the EM Global Finals only two of them came from Korea, and with the Championship Match ready to go, both Korean teams remained and were sure to present a very entertaining match. H O N would come from behind in bracket play and become victorious with a 3-2 victory over their fellow country mates.wow po You can be though, this was not only a win for H O N, but a win for the country of Korea as they proved that they deserve respect in WoW tournament play.

RMP the Lineup of Choice

A big debate entering the tournament was what class comp would we see played the most or what lineup would the community see win it all. With the EM Global Finals being the first major tournament since the release of WOTLK, questions would be answered. Well, the lineup of choice proved to be Rogue/Mage/Priest, despite all of the hype behind the Death Knight/Paladin combination. Every team in bracket play were running the RMP lineup, proving that it still is the tournament lineup of choice.

In fact, the US was the only country that did not run a strong RMP and this proved to be a huge downfall for them as they finished with an overall record of 3-12 in the tournament, two of the wins coming from Team EG.
